Samburu lies to the far North of Kenya close to the Kenya-Ethiopia border. It is home to some African tribes mostly those of Maa origin, one of which the area is named after, that is, the Samburu. They have a fascinating way of life, a living thriving community that seems to have a singular heartbeat. Samburu National Park is an expansive savanna that is the natural habitat of possibly hundreds of different animal species. Big cats such as lions and leopards are abundant, as well as their prey like the endangered Grevy's Zebra and the Oryx Beisa. Samburu bears a sort of resemblance to the Maasai Mara in terms of landscape but Samburu has more imposing hills and cliffs.
